My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Mildred 😻

This senior Bengal knows exactly what she wants -- your undivided attention! This chatty sweetheart isn't afraid to speak her mind (or her heart) when it comes to asking for the love she deserves. With her raspy meow, she likes to let you know when it's treat time, snuggle time, or 'pet me' time. When it's bed time, she loves to snuggle into a warm bed with her favourite human and cuddle until morning.

Mildred's ideal home is one where she's the star of the show and would prefer no other cats or dogs to share the limelight with. She has shown interest in the great outdoors and enjoys bird watching through the windows. A big open window with a ledge, or even better, an enclosed catio would be could provide her with the enrichment of experiencing the outdoors, with the safety of indoor living.

Despite her age, Mildred is full of life and enjoys cozy sunspots, gentle playtime, and cuddles. She's looking for a loving forever home where she can bask in affection and enjoy her golden years. Mildred currently has early-stage kidney concerns, so she will need a little extra care and attention, but her loving nature makes it all worth it ❤

Mildred is currently in a foster home while she awaits her fur-ever family. Please apply to meet and adopt her at this link!:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
