HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.
----
- Really nice girl who can be shy at first, but once she knows you she loves booty scratches and sitting in laps
- Enjoys catnip, balls she can bat around the floor, and her Kong "Kickaroo" catnip toy
- Loves treats!
- Loud noises and fast movements are scary for her right now, so a home with young or rambunctious kids might not be ideal for her; looking for a calm, predictable home with mature family members
- Has a history of being stressed around dogs and other cats, so she may be happiest as an only pet
- Will be a wonderful friend for a calm, patient person who loves the quiet life just like she does
This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress in her foster home, but don't be surprised if it takes several days for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life!
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
