Dumpling is Apple’s brother. They were found dumped in the desert in NM when they were just babies. They are approx 6 months old now and 20#. We believe that he is a Cowboy Corgi mix. Dumpling has a very sweet demeanor and enjoys hanging out with his humans and following his brother around. Dumpling is fairly submissive and is good with other dogs, respectful children 6+, and strangers. He has not been tested with cats. He enjoys car rides and chewing on bully sticks and getting frozen kong toys. He is a little barky with people he doesn’t know but warms up quickly. He can also be barky when playing so he is not a good fit for an apartment situation or shared walls. We’re looking to place him in a home with another friendly dog his size to play with, a secure fenced in yard, and humans who aren’t gone all day. These pups are nearly potty trained if they are let out often and late at night to do their final business. Dumpling has learned to walk on a leash and is doing fantastic. They are a bit introverted and shy at first but warm quickly with soft talk and snacks. They also need to gain some more weight. Dumpling hasn’t attempted a flight of stairs yet and the vet says he has a luxating patella but it’s not noticeable and it certainly doesn’t bother him. He also had an ear infection so he can’t get wet for 30 days. These pups love to eat and are food motivated for easier training. He will do well in a structured suburban or rural environment with active humans and lots of attention. A basic puppy training class would do wonders to build their confidence and teach them fun cues.
