Here's what the humans have to say about me:
George is a spunky, affectionate, wire-haired 11 month old, 50lb English Bulldog/Poodle mix who loves people and is a total ham! He was unfortunately added to the euthanasia list at our local shelter for having an easily treatable upper respiratory infection. One of our generous supporters offered to sponsor in home boarding for him with a pet sitter until he finished his treatment, so we were able to save him!
Since being with us, George has blossomed into an energetic little firecracker when he's around other dogs, and a total sweetheart when he's around people! George is very human oriented and while he does have his fair share of that typical bulldog stubbornness, he always wants to please his people! He is a very smart boy and loves to work for treats. George is generally pretty chill most of the time, but does get excited when it's time for his walks or food. He is a very strong, sturdy dog but he doesn't often feel the need to use his strength, which is good for us!
George is potty and crate trained and knows the sit command already. He is an intelligent boy and can surely learn many more commands and tricks with the right motivations! George still has to learn some manners when it comes to mouthing and occasionally jumping up on people, but he has already improved a lot since he first came to us.
George is good with other dogs but would prefer to be the center of attention as the only dog in the home. He plays well but tends to be a roughhouser so if he goes into a home with another doggy sibling, they would need to have similarly matching energies. For this reason as well, we are recommending that he goes to a home without young children. Being a sassy bulldog with some manners to learn, someone with breed experience is preferred.
George is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.
