My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you`re interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet

Are you ready for an active adventure buddy? Sun, rain or snow this guy is ready to GO! Cabo is looking for a home with large breed experience and a commitment to work on his training needs. He will require regular exercise and activity to keep him healthy and happy. Cabo will require a husky proof, securely fenced yard and a feline free home. He is not suited for apartment living. Cabo weighs 65 pounds.

Cabo went out with our Wandering Rovers who said the following about him: We had so much fun with Cabo! We took him to a pet-friendly mall, for a car ride, and for a walk on a trail.
He seemed to have a good time and was very excited to explore new places. He is absolutely perfect in the car. The mall was a little overstimulating for him but a walk on a trail in the woods was exactly his speed. He loves being outside, and the rain doesn’t bother him at all. He seems quiet for a husky and didn’t make a sound the whole time. He is great around people. Lots of kids and dogs walked by while we were out, and he didn’t bat an eye.

Cabo doesn’t seem very food motivated, but we discovered he knows how to sit and shake. He is very active and loves to sniff. He does pull on the leash if there’s something interesting to smell but will walk nicely with some encouragement. He loves praise and wags his tail like crazy when you tell him he’s a good boy!

ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT

Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.

How does this work?

First, check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, visit our website (www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet) to complete an online adoption application.

Our staff will review your application and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that we receive many applications, and it may take up to a week before you are contacted.

Adoption appointments are set up using strict social distancing protocols, and many transactions are processed ‘curbside’ outdoors. Our staff will go over appointment details when they speak with you.

Renters bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption.

Animals are usually able to go home right away, so be prepared for your new pet to leave with you.

CATS
- Adult cats (over 6 months): $50
- Kittens (6 months and under): $125
