My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Have you ever fantasized about running into a bobcat in the wild and bringing it home with you? Have you ever worried that you would try and get mauled? Well, now you don't have to! Adopt Misfit and you will have your very own house bobcat!

Don't let the name fool you! Misfit is anything but a misfit. She rescued herself by running into a cat lover's garage who then contacted TCR. She is smart, sweet and very social. Misfit loves being with her foster mom, foster cat friend, and doesn't seem to mind the dogs. Misfit is very curious, playful, active and vocal. She has the most unique meow that sounds like she belongs on Jurassic Park and has full conversations with her foster mom. Her favorite toy is the Tower of Tracks. She also loves her hammock, cat shelves, cat bed, crinkle ball, and spring toys. Misfit has one of the loudest purrs you have ever heard and is easy to handle and carry around.
Misfit Because Misfit loves to run, climb, chase and is so social, she would need to be adopted with another kitten or go to home with another playful kitty friend. We believe that she would do well in a variety of homes even ones with young respectful children and cat loving dogs.

Misfit is about four months old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. You don't want to miss out on this amazing kitten - apply to adopt Misfit today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
