My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This precious little lady is named Leslie. Leslie is a senior girl, estimated to be around 8 years old, seeking a warm and relaxing retirement! She’s kid-friendly, dog friendly and cat tolerant and could easily fit in in any animal lover’s home. She’s good on leash, gentle and quiet, and could live in an apartment. We think Leslie would make a wonderful companion dog for a retired couple that can pamper her.

We think Leslie is a chihuahua mix of some sort. Leslie is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. She does look like an itty bitty mini heeler with her snowy senior fur, but we haven’t tested her DNA!

Fall in love with Leslie here: https://youtu.be/a4beb15-9hY?si=SbEPWsiyI4CwodMF

With other dogs, Leslie is an absolute lady. Here at the rescue, we watched her tolerate our pushiest of puppies, remaining kind while they harassed her for play. Leslie is currently fostered with 5 other dogs, ranging in size from 8 lbs to 80! She’s a perfect sweetheart with other dogs, but we don’t think she requires doggy siblings. This girl could fit right into your pack, or thrive as an only child, being spoiled rotten in her golden years.

Leslie is cat tolerant, and currently lives in a foster home with multiple kitties. Here at the rescue, Leslie has been cat tested. She was relaxed and easy going with our house cat Tom, see her cat test for yourself in her video.

Leslie is incredibly welcoming, loving and loyal. She’s friendly with everyone she meets, and exceptionally tolerant. Leslie is great with kids and has spent time with kids of all ages in her foster home. Here at the rescue, Leslie met a three year old and did very well with him!

Leslie is such a good girl. She has wonderful house manners, and didn’t have any indoor accidents here at the rescue! She’s easy on leash and friendly with new people- she could do wonderfully out and about with you! Leslie is well behaved in the car, she unloads and loads all by herself.

Leslie would love to live with a retired couple looking for a companion dog. She’s just looking for a soft place to land, and hopefully some pampering in her golden years. She could also make an easy little family dog, with respectful kids! We think she could do well in any type of home- be it an apartment, townhome, condo, or house.

With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Leslie with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
