About: This handsome 6-year-old polar bear is looking for a loving and understanding home. Scrappy came to PACC as a confiscation, he was found tied up outside a residence abandoned by his owner. Scrappy has been friendly and eager to please his human companions. However, the stresses of shelter life have impacted his behavior. He has recently exhibited some challenging behaviors, including altercations with other dogs. Despite these challenges, Scrappy is a sweet boy who enjoys human companionship. He is eager to please and loves to interact with his people. •Due to his recent behavioral challenges, Scrappy will need to be the only dog in the home. •Scrappy has been diagnosed with Valley Fever and is currently receiving medication. •To ensure his safety and the safety of other dogs, Scrappy will require muzzle training for any interactions with other dogs. Scrappy is looking for a patient and understanding adopter who is willing to provide him with a loving and stable environment. He will thrive in a home with a secure yard where he can safely enjoy his outdoor time.
Adoption Process:
Interested parties •Must visit PACC before the 5:00 PM January 10, 2025, deadline to meet with an adoption counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit. •Are encouraged to reach out to a rescue group ASAP (even before coming to PACC), to start the rescue approval process. Have the rescue contact PACC atPACC.UrgentDogs@pima.gov if approved to pull. Collaboration with Rescue Groups •Rescue groups are encouraged to reach out to PACC early if they are able to pull this animal into their rescue (and what requirements they would have: interested adoptive party, alteration etc.) •If an IP has not already contacted a rescue, PACC will notify all partnered rescue groups of an interested party and request their assistance. •Rescue groups are encouraged to start their adoption process with any interested parties who have contacted them directly and email PACC at PACC.UrgentDogs@pima.gov.

Meet the Pet
Once you have decided which pets you are interested in, sign in for an adoption counselor who will guide you through the adoption process.

Take the Pet Home
Cats must leave in a carrier and dogs must leave in a carrier or on leash. We do have these available for purchase in our lobby store.

• Adult dogs and cats $30
• A standard $20 dog license fee may apply
• Pets who have been waiting for more than 2 weeks for a family and pets over 5 years old $0 - Fee Waived!

• Spay or neuter surgery
• First Vaccinations
• Microchip

• Pet insurance
