My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nikita is a stunning young female who is looking for an experienced human who can help her bond, build confidence and unleash her true potential! ‍

Nikita, lovingly called Nikki, shows us that once she bonds, she is fiercely loyal. She also has shown ball and food drive and loves to work and train! She is hungry for someone to teach her and show her that the world isn't a scary place! She is timid at first but if you give her time and show her you are safe, she will bond so hard, she will do anything for you!! She is eager to learn new scent games and loves water, which could mean there is some soft sport potential once she unleashes her inner superwoman! She has an obsession with the kiddie pool LOL

She is amazing with other dogs, small or big, and would love a playmate who can keep up with her! [check out her videos on Facebook: #MADloveNikita]

She is working on crate training and has done fine free roaming when home alone. She is potty trained. She is working on basic commands and still learning.

Nikki's ideal home  would be an ideal buddy for someone without kids who spends lots of time outside and maybe works from home! She prefers a quiet home with little throughtraffic. She thrives in a home with a yard or ample room to roam. She does not do well in an apt situation. She would love someone able to build her confidence and give her a safe place to rest her head, explore the world together and do fun sports or activities! She will need someone who is dedicated to helping her through scary times and work toward feeling safe! She is one of those dogs that need work but will reward you tenfold!!

She has shown to be good around cats and farm animals!

More about this rescue

Mission Statemet
Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc. (MAD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is dedicated to rescuing Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds who have found themselves without a home (surrendered, discarded, abused, neglected or impounded). MAD does not have a physical location and is operated by compassionate, like-minded professionals who volunteer their time and resources to help save and care for the Malinois and Dutch Shepherds. All animals that are accepted by MAD are spayed or neutered, given medical attention and rehabilitation, as needed, and placed with foster homes until their health and evaluations are completed and they are ready to be placed in their loving permanent homes.
