Hi! My name is Maisy Jane. I am a 72 pound black & white Labrador / bull terrier mix. I was born on June 8th, 2022. My foster journey started when I was just an 8 week old puppy. I was rescued after being abandoned on a roadside, and spent the next few months in foster care getting a lot of love, and training from my foster mom. I was adopted by a wonderful family, but sadly, my adoptive mom got sick with cancer, and could no longer take care of me, so my foster mom welcomed me back home, and now we are looking for my new forever family!
I am a really sweet and smart girl who absolutely loves my people with my whole heart, and my exuberant tail wags show it. I love being involved in whatever you are doing, and I'm happy to spend all day, every day right by your side. I'm up for adventures as long as they aren't too scary, or I am down with just chilling and watching TV. I'm not a puppy anymore, but I still like to play and be active.
I can get along really well with friendly dogs who are smaller than me, but bigger dogs or ones who are bossy tend to scare me. I love cats and kittens and try to play with them, but sometimes I can accidentally be a bit rough. Sometimes I don't realize how big and strong I am, and can overwhelm you with my exuberant love and whippingly waggly tail, so I may not be the best fit for little kids or those who are elderly or disabled.
I learned a lot of tricks and commands when I was a puppy, and while some of those things are a little rusty in my memory, it's all coming back to me now as my foster mom works with me again! I know how to swim, and I really enjoy the water once I know it's safe. I love to chase bubbles and the spray from the water hose or sprinkler!
While I am a really good girl, I'm not exactly perfect. I do like to dig holes, and loud noises and new things sometimes scare me. I can be a bit timid and tender hearted. I would really love a home where I can be loved and encouraged to be my best self by someone who understands dogs like me.
