The adoption fee is waived for Clover and ALL Desperate Housecats!

Clover is absolutely one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats you will ever meet!

Clover was brought to AAC with several other cats after they lost their home. Possibly the result of injury, she has knee issues, and could benefit from orthopedic surgery. If surgery is selected as her treatment plan, multiple surgeries will likely be necessary. Management of arthritis/pain control may also be an option.

Clover has adapted to her situation, and currently she doesn`t seem to be in pain. She moves around very well (she climbs cat trees and can get up on furniture).

Clover LOVES people, wanting to be wherever her humans are. She is also great with other cats.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note, Adoption and Pet Resource Center lines close at 6:00 p.m. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
