Ollie came to Brooklyn two years ago via a rescue organization, prior to which he spent two years in a Texas shelter. We estimate he is around eight years old, so he has plenty of energy for long walks but also enjoys just laying around the home. He is cuddly and affectionate, and recently has shown his playful side by playing fetch. He is not fearful and rarely barks, and he gets along well with dogs of all types. He respects the home, never destroying anything aside from the occasional book/magazine, and he has never had an accident in the house. He can be left home alone for the entire workday and seems to handle it well.
Given his rural upbringing he is wary of strangers, ignoring them while outside but getting territorial when they enter the home; unfortunately he will try to bite new people that try to handle him. He also has a chronic cough that the vet cannot solve, likely due to prolonged heartworm during his earlier years, though he is otherwise very healthy.
