Meet Sadie Mae! Sadie Mae is about 5 years old, currently 16 lbs, and she may have some Schnauzer in her mix! In her foster home, she is working on her house-training, crate-training and leash-walking. She would do best as a solo dog but could live with cats and/or kids 10+. She recently had dental work done and is ready for her forever home.
Her foster says, "While I've only had Sadie Mae for a few days, she seems to be warming up quickly. We cannot do much because she was just spayed. She loves to be held close to you. I sing to her and pet/scratch her and she just melts into me. She is so starved for attention and loves it. She is not bothered by cats, even when they came right up to her. She is excited about other dogs, but has not really initiated play. She barked a little as dogs walked by, but I think it was out of excitement and interest. She are her meal near another dog and it did not bother her at all. Once she is healed up and feels more confident, I think she will be an active and fun loving member of the family. She will definitely need leash training. Between her shyness and recent surgery, I did not want to traumatize her any more than necessary by attempting the leash more than one time."
She is available for adoption with an approved adopter by appointment in Hopkinton or Leominster, MA. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.
-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises. -Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt. - More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com
