Sheena is a beautiful one-year old female American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on October 16, 2024 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden who had picked her up on Rinard Mills Road in the New Matamoras Ohio area. Sheena was wearing a collar (and there was a rope attached), so hopefully she had merely been tied out for a 'bathroom break'. Sheena was not microchipped.
This little sweetheart has a shiny black short smooth coat with patches of white on her chest, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a black velvet nose on her chubby muzzle, and semi-erect ears.
Sheena was a frightened little girl when she first arrived in our shelter, but within a few hours she was showing up her sweet personality and soaking up attention from our HSOV kennel techs and staff.
These photos were taken later in the afternoon on October 16th when HSOV Manager Tracy Lynn accompanied her for outdoor glamour photos. Sheena was very attentive and well-behaved. She kept watching cars as they drove into our parking area as though she were expecting someone to come and take her home.
Sheena weighs 42 lbs and walked fairly well on a leash with Tracy by her side.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Sheena will be held for three days so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.
