My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pickles, a spunky 3-year-old who was originally adopted from a local shelter. Despite his previous adopter's best intentions, they realized their living situation—where Pickles was the only pet in a home with a single person—wasn’t ideal for him. Out of a desire to find the perfect fit, Pickles was relinquished to us in hopes of securing the forever home he truly deserves.

Pickles is a confident, playful, and active little guy who thrives in the company of both people and other dogs. He’s the ultimate “velcro pug,” always wanting to be close to his humans—whether he’s snuggled in your lap or sitting by your side. He enjoys meeting new people, walks well on a leash (though he may pull when extra excited), and easily adapts to new routines. He’s even happy to share the bed at night for some extra cuddles!

While Pickles is full of love and goofiness, he’s working on his isolation distress when left alone. He does well when left with another person or a dog, usually whining briefly before settling down. However, when left entirely alone, he can become a bit vocal. Thankfully, he’s been making steady progress and continues to improve. An owner who is dedicated to helping him work through his separation anxiety is ideal!

Pickles is happiest when he has the companionship of another dog, and having a canine companion around really brings out his best side. He’s a fantastic dog who will thrive in the right environment. If you can offer Pickles the loving, home he needs, please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
