Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Luna is a beautiful 5-year old female kitty who was surrendered by her elderly mistress on October 12, 2024 because she was no longer able to take care of Miss Luna.
Luna has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and a pretty face with dark green eyes, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers.
Luna had been with her mistress ever since she was a tiny kitten and was surely loved/spoiled for the last five years ... So this is even more traumatic for Luna suddenly being 'homeless'.
This little lady is understandably very frightened being in a small cage with so many other cats nearby and people that she does not recognize. Our compassionate kennel techs are giving Luna time to acclimate to her new life 'behind bars' and making sure she has plenty of good food, treats, and soft comfy blankets.
These photos were taken on October 13th so that potential adopters will know that Luna is in our shelter and will eventually be looking for another loving home. We look forward to taking more flattering pictures when Luna is more relaxed and has begun to trust our kennel techs to take her into our 'studio' for out-of-cage glamour shots.
Luna is an average-sized kitty who weighs perhaps 7- to 8 lbs. She will be spayed before being adopted by her new family (a requirement for HSOV adoptions to be finalized).
Update: Luna was spayed on October 22, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 8.5 lbs that day. Luna was diagnosed during surgery with Pyometra (a serious and life-threatening infection in her uterus) for which she was given an injection of an antibiotic.
We hope that someone special will give Luna a 'second chance' at the good life while realizing that it may take awhile for her to calm down after the recent trauma in her life~
