Dodger is a loving Pomeranian mix with a heart full of cuddles! This affectionate pup thrives on snuggles and is always ready to curl up beside you. While he might whine a bit when you leave the house, he quickly settles down once you're gone. Dodger loves to play and has a blast chasing after balls and toys. He's a spirited companion on walks and can be a bit of a puller! (good thing he is so little)!

Dodger prefers a quiet life and isn't a big fan of other dogs, so he will want to be your one and only! He also has some specific taste buds-fish and lamb are definitely not his favorites, but he's happy to chow down on just about anything else!

If you're looking for a devoted companion who loves to cuddle, Dodger is your guy!

Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
