Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Smokey Joanne's personality has a remarkable resemblance to that of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh! This girl is personality plus, she loves to bop around the office she shares with our Director of Community Engagement, Stephanie. While Stephanie loves Smokey Jo, she misses being able to type without a paw in the way. Smokey Jo is also a food connoisseur and will try to quality check any and all food that is brought into the office.
From having Smokey Jo in an office setting we have been able to learn more about her including that once she has gotten lots of her "Tigger-esque" energy out she is very affectionate and enjoys laying on the desk while she supervises all ongoing community engagement activities.
Smokey Jo's ideal home is one where she can be the queen of the house, no other pets please! Families interested in adopting Smokey Jo should be cat-savvey, and all kids in the home should be 16+.
With questions about Smokey Joanne, or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org

Matchmaking is what we love to do. We do our very best to find the best fit for the pets awaiting adoption at the Rhode Island SPCA. The first step to adopting a dog from the Rhode Island SPCA is filling out an adoption application. If your application is selected, you will be contacted and asked if you would like to schedule a meet & greet. Because of the volume of applications we receive, sometimes we can only respond to the selected applicant. You are always welcome to contact us anytime about the status of your application at adoption@rispca.com.
