Things to Know About Honey Bee:
- Rescued from Mississippi
- Rescued and loved by a teenage girl for two months. Had to be surrendered due to family circumstances, leaving her young owner heartbroken
- Timid in new situations but gaining confidence every day. May inititally hide or be apprehensive meeting new people until she feels comfortable.

- Enjoys the company of her foster family- likes to relax on the couch or bed, with bursts of playful energy (expecially in the evenings).
- Honey Bee loves kids but may be a bit too energetic for toddlers.
- Playful and sweet, loves attention, and has a cutie-pie personality
- Learned basic commands like sit, stay, and fetch from her previous owner

- Learning leash manners and gaining confidence on walks. May get spooked by cars or loud noises but enjoys exploring the neighborhood and seeing halloween decorations!

- Learning and building confidence in going up and down stairs.
- Loves playing with tennis balls and chewing on toys. Enjoys walks and playing outside, though she hasn’t quite grasped the concept of fetch.
- Enjoys exploring the neighborhood and is curious about Halloween decorations.
- Honey Bee goes into her crate willingly. Loves sleeping in bed with her foster's 14 year old daughter.
- Working on house training
- Dog-friendly - coexists peacefully with other dogs and enjoys playing with them.
- Cat-curious but not aggressive. Has even tested out the resident cat's bed!
- Looking for a loving and committed forever home to provide her with the care and love she deserves. Would be great for an experienced dog owner who can help her gain confidence and offer a supportive environment to learn new skills.

Submit Application

Go to TLCrescuePA.com/adopt to learn about adopting from us & submit an application. You only need to submit 1 application

2.
Interview

We call your vet & landlord (where applicable) and then speak to you & your personal references

3.
Approve Application

If your application is approved, we will send you an email with details about the next steps.

4.
Meet the Pet

You can meet our dogs at a public meet & greet or schedule an appointment with a particular dog you want to adopt

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will schedule a private appointment for you to spend time w/ the dog and determine whether it's a good all around fit

6.
Pay Fee

If you decide to adopt you will sign the adoption agreement & pay an adoption fee; we will also review the dog's vet records w/you

7.
Take the Pet Home

Please do not schedule a meeting if you are not prepared to adopt the dog if it's a good fit an take it home from the appointment

When you adopt from TLC, you become a part of our family. We will be there for you with continued support even after adoption.

At TLC, our adoption process is simple and straight-forward. We want you to find a new family member and we want our rescue dogs to find their forever home. There is no cost to apply and we do not require you to put a deposit on a dog to be able to meet a dog. An application does not obligate or limit you to adopting the dog listed on the application.

Applications are carefully considered and processed by our applications team. After submission, an adoption counselor will contact you to conduct an interview where together you will assess your needs and work to find the right match. We speak to veterinary references, landlords and personal references before approving an application.

To Love a Canine Rescue, Inc. (TLC) is a non-profit, all breed, 100% foster-based, no-kill rescue operating in Chester County, PA. Our mission is to rescue and find permanent homes for abandoned, stray and surrendered dogs in order to minimize the needless euthanizing of animals.

We have a passion for saving dogs as well as a thirst to educate the community on reducing the number of dogs needing rescue. From puppies to seniors, there is a perfect dog out there for everyone. We pride ourselves on making the right connection between dog and family in order to give our dogs their final, joyful, loving home. Ultimately, our wish would be for empty shelters so no dog is left behind… until they all have a home.
