My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Iceman is being fostered in Griffith IN

This STUNNING boy is Iceman AKA Ice.  He is a 2 year old male blue merle standard Aussie weighing 39lbs.  Ice's foster mom reports, this boy has the BEST wigglebutt in the Midwest!  He loves everything and everyone!  Loves to play with other dogs and hasn't met another dog he didn't like yet.  He LOVES LOVES LOVES to play frisbee and that is totally his jam!  He will play with a ball too, but prefers the frisbee if he had to choose.

This sweet snuggly boy is super affectionate and on the lower energy spectrum for an Aussie.  As long as he has some exercise each day and can run around a bit, he has a GREAT off switch and would love nothing more than to snuggle next to his human on the couch/bed curled up and watching some TV or a movie.  His foster mom tells us that he has excellent house manners and really likes his crate too.  She says, "Load up!" and into his kennel he goes.   This boy is still pretty young so we recommend a kennel at first and overtime, gradually decreasing the amount of time in it when left alone.  He has been left out for a couple hours while his foster parents were out and did well.  He does bark at first when they leave and will eventually settle down.  He knows many skills like sit, down, paw, etc. He enjoys learning and is food motivated/frisbee motivated.

Iceman is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, negative for all tick borne diseases and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.

This boy would love to find a family to call his own.  Does this stunning boy seem like the one for you? The first step is to fill out an adoption application at https://midwestaustralianshepherdrescue.org/adopt/

NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
