My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poppy is a beautiful 6 year old shih tzu. She is shy at first, but is learning to be a best friend. She absolutely loves attention, neck scratches and kisses. She loves to play with her toys, gets along great with her foster doggy sisters and is cat friendly. She is still learning how to walk with a leash, but is making progress every day. When she came to us we weren't sure she had even been outside walking on grass before, but now she loves running around in the back yard like a mad woman. She is crate trained but prefers to sleep in bed with everyone. Sleeps all nights and is a love bug in the mornings. Poppy is easy going, laid back, and not much of a barker. She is doing well with potty training, but does still have an occasional accident in the house. We don't think it will take her much once she is comfortable in a new home setting and routine to become fully house trained. Included in each adoption: age appropriate shots, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery. Prior to meeting or adopting any of our wonderful animals, we ask that you please fill out our online application: https://form.jotform.com/223268341300041 We are a 100% volunteer organization and have to work other jobs to pay the bills. Please give us up to 48 hours to respond. Submission of an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee approval. We look forward to hearing from you.October 15, 2024, 8:35 pm

More about this rescue

Rosalie and Friends was created out of the President's dedication to help the under dogs and cats. She has taken in and rehabilitated the sick and injured for years. Late 2022 a well respected animal 501c3, Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter, dissolved and turned the organization over to Rosalie and Friends. We have assumed responsibility of several programs from them, to include sponsorship for heartworm treatment of animals adopted through the shelter. We also provide medical assistance for shelter animals and have a fospice program to get senior pets from the shelter and into loving homes through end of life. Our logo is "Fospice and fixer uppers" but that has not stopped us from helping others that cross our paths.
