My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The face that drew you to here is Finn, a brown-eyed boy with a gentle nature and dream of a family of his own. If you are seeking a calm, easy-going boy who couldn’t even comprehend the idea of chaos…look no further. Finns entire being exudes gentle and calm, slow and steady, true family man qualities! Carrying a loving heart and all the traits of an adoring, loyal dog, Finn is ready to come home. Take a look at his peaceful nature here:
https://youtu.be/lcuSmtR_c7k

One of my favorite things about Finn is how peaceful his presence is, quiet company that just feels comfortable. His demeanor and look lead us to believe he is a shepherd mix, approximately 7-8 months old and he currently weighs a delicate 34 lbs. Breed and age are details we cannot offer 100% certainty on given the nature of Finn being a rescue but he isn’t quiet done growing so Finn will likely grow into a mid -size boy.

Finn comes across as shy at first, but you quickly realize he is just incredibly calm and peaceful. As we introduced him to new dogs, he did begin to engage more but even his “playful” side was reflective of a dog who enjoys the company of other dogs but isn’t going to lead a game of chase. He is better suited for the tag-along gang, so if you have a dog that would like some calm companionship, Finn is up for the role! He is at ease and makes connections with other dogs without being pushy. In addition to being dog friendly, Finn was respectful with our resident house cat, he may have been slightly unsure but he did not try to chase nor did he become fixated on the cat. We would say he is cat-tolerant and we are happy to test him again if you have a cat and want to ensure he is a great fit for your home. You can see more in this video, including him being introduced to the cat.

Finn would easily live in a home with a yard to stretch those long legs. While also having potential as an apartment boy. His leash skills need some polishing if potty breaks require a leashed walk but we feel confident that he is going to polish up nice with just a little practice. Although we didn’t get to see him run, once he is settled in a home and knows he is safe its almost guaranteed he will show you what those long legs can do. A house with a yard, a loving family, a canine-companion or maybe even a feline friend. I can’t imagine many homes Elton wouldn’t be well suited for.

If you can guard his big loving heart, he promises to help calm you from whatever the day can throw at you, fill you up with love, sweetness and loyalty in return. So, if you're looking for a four-legged friend who's got looks, charm, and a golden-good heart, Finn is your guy!

If you have any questions about Finn or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! If you have question about him or the adoption process- email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
