My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Willie was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
Willie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Willie is always grinning/smiling - like all the time. He is a lively guy and with that goofy grin and one ear up/one ear down, he qualifies to be Willie the goofball. Willie can be vocal inside so better that neighbors are not too close. He is making noise to tell that he wants to go out. Funny, but he is not so vocal outside, in fact he is a dream outside as he walks nicely by his person's side and does not get bothered by other dogs. He loves to be outside with his people. He is a love bug who put his paws on laps and legs to ask for pets. He has been around kids and does fine. This goofball wants a family who will include him in their activities and be willing to take him for walks where he can play and ask for pets. If that is what you would like, bring a leash and come to meet Willie with the goofball grin. You will laugh when you see that grin.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
