My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Lily was brought in by her previous owner on 8/20/24.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Lily! This affectionate lady thrives on head scratches, back rubs and gentle head butts - all on her own terms, of course! Lily is currently in a foster home, where she enjoys lounging on the bed all day. When she's feeling relaxed, her curiosity shines through, and she loves to explore her surroundings!
Lily enjoys her independence, and isn't too fond of being picked up or snuggled. A princess at heart, she loves both kibble and canned soft food, though she can be a bit picky about her flavors. This lovely lady will need some extra patience to help her adjust, but with time and understanding, she'll blossom into a delightful companion!

At SDHS:
Lily is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
