Human health issues (e.g. allergies, sickness)

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tio is a great dog. I think he knows English and he definitely follows verbal directions better than my son does. Better potty trained as well. He doesn’t get in furniture or bark incessantly at everything. We adopted Tio from the Humane Society when he was a puppy. My son was turning 2. We thought they’d grow up together like brothers. We later realized our son is autistic and really isn’t interested in bonding with or playing with the dog. Instead, he sometimes pulls his tail, digs his nails into him, or tries to ride him down the stairs. Our son is often involved in unsafe behaviors and having the dog running around makes it less safe, like when they both run in circles around the pool and run into each other. Or elope and run in opposite directions. Tio recently ran past my son to answer the door (he’s very protective and sweet), getting tangled in his feeding tube, and accidentally tore out my son’s G tube. It was very painful for him. Tio deserves to be a priority.
