Meet Roy! He loves pets, playtime and lounging around – there’s nothing better in life than that!
When Roy first moves into a new home, it may take some time for him to fully warm up, and he’ll soon show you that he is a total sweetheart! He especially likes cheek and chin scratches, as well as naptime snuggles. When he’s ready to play, he enjoys wand toys, laser pointers and chasing after a treat! After burning off some energy, he will look for a cozy napping spot, and he can occasionally be found curled up under the bedsheets.
Roy would thrive in a home be with someone who will give him all the pets and snuggles that he wants, as well as ample playtime throughout the day! He would also love to live somewhere with lots of comfy spots to catnap in, as well as enough space to run around and get his zoomies out. He also wouldn’t mind company when he eats his meals – he’s a social boy at heart!
Roy is looking for an experienced adopter who understands when he is feeling overstimulated. He can be a bit mouthy and give gentle play bites when he feels done with being pet or if he’s in a playful mood. Our Adoption Team would be happy to provide recommendations for addressing his behavior, such as redirecting his attention to appropriate toys and providing him with plenty of daily enrichment with designated playtimes. Due to his playstyle and sensitivity to petting, Roy would also do best in a home without young children.
Potential adopters should be aware that Roy tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) in August 2024. With proactive and routine veterinary care, FIV-positive cats can have both a normal lifespan and good quality of life. Our Adoption Team will share more information about Roy’s medical history and expected future care when you apply.
