My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My Foster Writes: Who's got adorable cheeks and the sweetest temperament? Rainbow (or Bo)! Although shy around strangers, Bo is quick to warm up with food and treats and loves cheek scratches and head pats. He is a sleepy boy during the day, but in the mornings and evenings, Bo loves following his human around, snuggling, and exploring his home. Bo would make a lovely addition into any home!

A volunteer writes: This mushy and bright little meatball is Rainbow! With his big round face and glamorous stripes, he looks like he's the star of the show! But our Rainbow isn't the type to demand the spotlight. When I opened his condo, he greeted me with a tiny little meow. I was expecting something a bit heartier, but quickly learned that Rainbow is very gentle with a kittenish meow to match. A note on his condo says he loves catnip and will roll over for cuddles. He also seems to love just plain snuggling. Rainbow particularly loves to plop those perfectly fluffed cheeks into the hands of new friends for pets. I offered Rainbow some catnip and treats, but he very politely declined in favor of cheek rubs and scritches. As he rested his gorgeous face in my hand, I knew there was nowhere I'd rather be. Rainbow was dropped off at the police one night and then brought to us to help him find his forever family. He may not be one to sit and front and center but he is definitely one to shine!

My foster writes: Rainbow, Bo for short, is the perfect older pet for a relaxed household. He's as low maintenance as they come, asking only for a clean litter box and the occasional cheek scratch from his owner. Bo is friendly around both cats and dogs, but mostly enjoys his alone time napping on a pillow or in your sock drawer.

Rainbow appreciates attention and petting but appears to be mildly fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Rainbow may be intimidated by small children, any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.
