My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bug is about 2 years old and is a tiny guy at only 6 pounds. He came into rescue with an injured right front leg that he did not want to use to bear weight and it was extremely swollen. The person who surrendered him claimed that he was bitten by a big dog 2 days before. The vet decided that amputation was Bug's best option because of all the damage to his leg so now Bug is getting used to getting around on 3 legs (and he's doing great!)

Bug has had a full vet work up, been neutered and been rabies vaccinated. Bug is very sweet & easy to work with. He allows pets all over and was friendly with everyone although his wound was very painful. Now he is in less pain but dealing with the loss of his leg. We know that once Bug figures out this whole being-a-tripod thing, that he will a lot happier!

Bug will be coming to NJ when he has been vetted and he's able to travel. If you are interested in adopting this little boy, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for BUG TX! The adoption fee for Bug is $425.

More about this rescue

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. For these animals, there is not much hope…except to look in the night sky for the North Star, their only way out. We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to saving these innocent dogs and finding them a new forever home. NorthStar Pet Rescue was founded in 2017, and although we might be a relatively new name among New Jersey animal rescues, you may recognize some of us from the work we’ve done volunteering with other rescues to help animals over the past decade. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals. NorthStar Pet Rescue is IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 81-5348036).
