Mercedes here is an estimated 3 year old golden retriever poodle mix. She found her way to us from a mass production situation looking for her fresh start. Unlike dogs who normally come from this situation, Mercedes truly didn't skip a beat. Things to know about Mercedes: Though she is way more socialized than the normal, we still would love a family to understand that because of her past she will need love and patience. She walks well on a leash and does not pull. She of course also enjoys a good sniff! She is potty trained, but we always ask for some patience during the beginning as she will be learning a new routine. She loves her people including children and her pup friends. She is treat motivated and loves to please her people. Her wonderful foster has gotten to know her so much and we have a lot more information to share as we start processing applications! If you would like to hear more about Mercedes, live within 3 hours of Chicago and want to be considered a potential home please apply directly. Her adoption fee includes up to date vaccines and preventatives, spay, heartworm test, and microchip. If you have any questions before applying please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org If you are viewing from adopt-a-pet to be considered a potential home for this dog please head to our website www.chicagorescueauthority.org and click on our adopt tab to apply directly!

Additional adoption info
Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet’s permanent home. These steps ensure that we have all the information needed to make the best placement for you or your family.

More about this rescue
At Chicago Rescue Authority, our mission is to create a compassionate world where every animal is treated with love, respect, and dignity. We are dedicated to educating the public about the adverse realities of the mass-production industry for puppies, raising awareness about responsible pet adoption and ownership, and actively working towards reducing the overpopulation of dogs in shelters.
Our promise to Chicago is to build our rescue on the tenets of teamwork, education and compassion. We will listen to the concerns and ideas of those around us and be ready to grow alongside this rescue and this mission.
Volunteers, fosters, donors and adopters will be the backbone of this organization, just like every other animal welfare non-profit. We will be hosting a variety of fundraisers and mixers throughout the year aimed at building our support network. We can’t wait to meet all the animals whose lives we are going to change!
