My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rio is a very smart, independent, and attentive dog, and would do well on a large property or ranch where he has room to roam, patrol, and protect. Rio also loves being with people and playing with other dogs.

We adopted Rio at 4 months old from a local rescue organization, and genetic testing shows he is a mix of Maremma Sheepdog, Treeing Walker Coon Hound, Great Pyrenees, and American Foxhound—all great hunting and guard breeds.

Now two years old, Rio has grown to be a loyal and confident companion. He is quick to learn, and although a bit willful, he is committed to "his" human.

We are looking to re-home Rio with an experienced dog owner that understands the needs of a large breed, on a property with room to exercise and "work," while also being part of the family.

Rio will make a wonderful pet for the right person or family.
