Meet Gracie - The Friendly Jumper of the Hooks Hound Litter!
Gracie is the sweetest, most affectionate pup of the litter, and she’s ready to find her forever family! Gracie was rescued from an abandoned state in the woods with her siblings, and with lots of care and love, she has blossomed into a healthy, energetic, and social dog.
Gracie’s joyful personality shines through in everything she does—she’s always the first to greet you with a wagging tail and lots of excitement. While she is incredibly friendly and loves to make new friends, she does need a bit of training to learn that not everyone appreciates being jumped on. She’s a high-energy girl who gets extra excited when her humans come home, so a home where she can get gentle guidance on her jumping habit will help her grow into the perfect companion!
Gracie is great with other dogs and loves playing and running with her foster siblings. She’s also friendly with older children, though her bouncy energy might be a bit much for little ones. Gracie hasn’t had exposure to cats, but she could be tested if needed.
Like the rest of the Hooks Hounds, Gracie is an active pup who thrives in a home where she can get plenty of exercise, like running in a large yard or going for daily walks. She’s also making progress with leash manners, though she’s still learning to walk politely on a lead. Gracie does well in the car, riding safely in a crate, and is learning to signal when it’s time for a potty break.
If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and loyal companion who will keep you on your toes with her fun-loving spirit, Gracie might just be the perfect match for your family!

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
