Meet Georgie - The Fun-Loving Pup of the Hooks Hound Litter now in New England and available for a meet up!
Georgie is a playful, affectionate pup who is ready to start his next adventure with a loving family! Rescued from the woods with his siblings, Georgie has grown into a healthy, heartworm-negative, happy boy who is always up for fun—whether in a fenced yard or taking slow walks where he can sniff all the wonderful outdoor smells.
Georgie gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company, so he’d love to have a furry sibling in his new home (although he would be OK as an only pup so long as he is given a chance to get over initial shyness with new people). While he’s great with people, he’d be best suited to a family with older kids who can keep up with his fun-loving spirit. Georgie has not had much exposure to cats, but he could be tested if needed.
Georgie is great on a leash. His foster has walked him using a harness and leash. The only time he pulls is when he knows he is about to come back in out of the New England cold (he is a TX baby after all)! Georgie rides well in the car, always crated for safety, and is doing great with crate training. He's well on his way to being completely housetrained.
Georgie loves playing with toys. While he enjoys a good game of fetch, he also keeps himself occupied by playing by himself. His current foster works from home, and she reports he is a polite and quiet office mate! He was born a country boy and loves the outside, but he's currently living in much more urban setting and is doesn't seem to mind the increased activity. If you think Georgie could be your new Best Friend, fill out an application now! This versatile boy is ready for his forever family!

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
