My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet boy *still* needs a home!

Bear showed up at his current house in July and his foster family has been taking care of him since, BUT he needs his OWN family!

It took him a little while to decompress and show us his personality, but he's a sweet boy! He LOVES belly rubs and is an avid frog/lizard/bug hunter. He knows sit/shake, is very smart and learns very quickly. We've been working on leash training and he's come so far with it!

He needs a home with no cats or smaller animals like rabbits or guinea pigs or reptiles. He also does well with other dogs! He is good with his 6 year old child in his foster home and does well when meeting other kids, but he is bouncy and may knock over little kids when he is playing. He's 80 pounds of clumsy and doesn't know his size, he likes to put all of his weight on you when he wants affection.

Bear is about two and a half years old and we think that he may be mixed with a Rottweiler or Shepherd due to his coloring and size.

More about this rescue

The Fayette County Humane Society (FCHS), staffed entirely by volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely by individual and corporate donations. Because we do not have a shelter, all of the animals we rescue live in temporary foster homes until they are adopted. We believe that all companion pets have intrinsic value and should be treated with the reverence and care they deserve.
