Mazzy Star is a sweet, loving pup who’s as mellow as a soft melody. At first, her shy nature might make her seem like a wallflower, but give her a little time, and you’ll discover a heart full of love and warmth. This adorable girl shines brightest when she’s around her fellow four-legged friends. Mazzy is wonderfully dog-social and truly comes to life during playgroup with her canine companions. Despite her puppy energy when it’s playtime, Mazzy has a calming presence; a perfect mix of youthful exuberance and a mellow spirit.

Paws For Life K9 Rescue pulls its dogs from city and county shelters. Often, we choose dogs in need of socialization and training which we place with our incarcerated trainers throughout California State Prisons.
We do this because they can dedicate all of their time to their rehabilitation. After several months of training, our dogs are ready for family life after completing their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. Some are trained to become service animals for military veterans with PTSD. By lowering euthanasia rates and preparing dogs for service-jobs, PFL is proving that everyone deserves a second chance.
