My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi hoomans! My name is Abby (Haba in Mexico!) and here's more about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Labrador/Terrier mix

  • Age: 5.5 months approx.

  • Gender: Female

  • Weight: 20lbs (9 kg)

  • Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico

RESCUE STORY - I'm a mysterious gal! Not a lot is known about my first few months but I was found by my rescuer living in a small store begging for scraps and looking pretttttty darn sorry for myself. I was only a couple months old and I was pretty hungry and malnourished so my rescuer/now foster hooman decided to take me in. Since then I've really perked up and turned into the bundle of joy and love that I am today! I really LIVE for cuddles in bed, hugs and socks (my favourite are the super stinky kind!) and my LOVE language is words of affirmation!

TEMPERAMENT - I am a loving and super adaptable pooch that would do well in any environment. My foster hooman currently works long hours outside of the house and I have proven to be just fine on my own! I also get along very well with other pooches and young hoomans alike (I like to give out hugs - check out my videos!). I am a very relaxed doggo who brings a zen energy to the household. This doesn't mean that you won't be getting copious amounts of hugs and kisses when you come home though! Mwah!!

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Yes!

  • Dogs – I get along well with other pups and currently live with many other doggos at my foster's house!

  • Cats – Unknown but can be tested upon request

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – I do okay with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training.

  • House trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.

  • Crate trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.

  • Car rides – My rescuer says I am good with this but I may need some additional training and patience.

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am spayed and vaccinated.

  • NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
