UPDATE: We have had some time to get to know Tsunami (Tsu as his foster calls him) a little better and thought everyone would like an update on him. Anyone wanting a sweet dobie that is on the smaller side is missing out on this great boy.
Tsu may be a little older than we first thought, more like 3 to 4 years old. He is more comfortable being in a crate (he came from a hoarding case) so that is his safe spot.
He has been around a female dobie playing and did fine but once he is comfortable then his pushy puppy side comes out. He will do best with a dog that will tolerate this play style. He met a kitty and seemed more afraid than anything. May be some chasing at some point but didn't have any indication he wanted to hurt a cat.
Tsu needs a patient family that wants to build up his confidence and show him how to be a dog.

Tsunami came to our rescue from a shelter in the south, he was part of a cruelty case. We are not exactly sure how old he is but somewhere around 1 to 2 years old, however he has nothing but puppy energy.
His foster says Tsunami is the sweetest boy and always smiling. His play style with other dogs is pretty rough so he will need a friend of his own size and willing to tolerate puppy play. No little dogs or cats due to high prey drive.
From his rocky start he is now learning to be a well-mannered dog but still needs lot of patience and help with this. Obedience training will be a must. Taking a class with your new dobie family member is a great way to bond along with teaching him some manners.
If you are looking for an energetic dobie boy that gives lots of love to his people, then maybe Tsunami is your boy.
A physically fenced yard is a requirement. No little kids (at least 10 years and up) since he still has a lot of energy and needs someone to focus a lot of their attention on his training.

More about this rescue
Bluegrass Doberman Rescue was formed to provide a needed service to the Doberman rescue community based in the state of Kentucky. Although the rescue itself was just formed in 2017, the volunteers behind it have over 10 years of experience in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Dobermans. We are committed to helping purebred Dobermans find their forever homes as well as educating the public about this often misunderstood breed. We understand that not everyone can own a Doberman but we are also here to provide support to those who do. We believe this rescue should be a cooperative effort between all volunteers and a collaborative effort between rescues to help this wonderful breed of dogs we all love.
