My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT

Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Yes
Good with kids: Unknown, likely yes
Crate trained: Mostly
House Trained: Mostly

Koba is a playful and loving pup who dreams of being a lap dog. After his energetic bursts, he enjoys sleeping, preferably close by or snuggled up with his humans. He’s a true "Velcro dog," happiest when he's following you around—whether you're working from home, doing chores, or relaxing outside.

Koba gets along well with other dogs and generally ignores cats. Since he loves to roughhouse, he’d likely thrive in a home with older, dog-savvy children. He willingly crates and stays quiet inside. He currently uses a 54-inch crate with a puppy pad, and if left crated for over four hours, he'll use the pad. With proper training and a smaller crate, he will learn to hold it longer. If he barks, it’s a signal that he needs to go out for a potty break right away. A consistent and frequent schedule will help him master house training.

Though still a pup and in need of guidance, Koba is eager to please. He walks wonderfully on a leash, never wanting to stray far from your side. With love and consistent training, Koba will blossom into an amazing companion who deserves to experience all the joys of dog life.

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
