My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! I am the handsome cattle dog boy named Dice. I was found by a nice lady as I was roaming the streets just northeast of Tuba City. She brought me home to her sister who gave me a bath and fed me yummy food. I spent some time with Dr. Holgate in Tuba City and then took a long car ride to a place called Flagstaff where I have been with different foster families, learning new things!
I know my name now, and when people call me, I come to them. I am a little people shy still, but I don't bark at someone new. I go up to them when my foster siblings do, and wag my tail and my whole self. I like it when people give me pets under my chin but when they put their hands over my head that can be scary.
I looooove my foster siblings and am a great pack dog. They teach me a lot about playing and sharing beds and stuffy toys which are my favorite. I also love a good chew on a bully stick or a pinecone.
I'm very curious and easy-going. I follow my foster pawrents around the house while they do things. I like to be close to them, but they say I am not a very big cuddler. I am pretty independent I guess!
They say I am well-behaved minus stealing an occasional piece of clothing and running off with it when my foster mom tries to do laundry. I am still a puppy, after all! But when she tells me no or gives me a quick squirt of water with a squirt bottle, I am smart and I learn fast what not to do.
I wear my collar but haven't tried a leash just yet. I am not a huge fan of the car. It scares me and I shake, but I also was car sick on my way to Flagstaff so can you blame me? I need more practice.
I am a very experienced stair-climber and have no issues with this.
I will work for treats! I love me some treats.
I am this very good boi when it comes to sleeping in my crate at night. I go in for a treat and then they close the door, and I sleep for 8-10 hours. I am both potty pad-trained and do my business outside when I am let out in the morning. My pawrents tell me to "Go potty, hurry up!" and I know just what to do.
Do you think we could meet? My adoption coordinator Deb is ready for your calls or texts at 928-853-1046. I will be ready to go home the week of October 14!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in one of our animals, please fill out an adoption application, located on our web site here: http://tubacityhumanesociety.org/adoptions/ . There is more information about our adoption process, including our adoption fees, on that page. In general, fill out an adoption application, and then photo or scan it to our email at tubacityhumane@gmail.com, and that enables us to start a conversation with you. From there, the foster would usually set up a meet and greet with the animal you are interested in. We like all family members to meet the animal, and any other pets as well. We do require a home check. Adoption fees do not cover our veterinary cost, but do help us to continue our work. All animals are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Most animals are also microchipped.

Go meet their pets

Arrangements can usually be made to meet most of our adoptable animals in Flagstaff. The process starts by filling out an application and returning it to to us through email. Some animals are fostered in Tuba City or other locations. We do attend some adoption events in Flagstaff.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue/foster group located in Tuba City, AZ, on the western Navajo Nation. We do not have a facility. We have two main programs: rescue of homeless animals in need, and a low-cost spay/neuter program for the public. We rely on donations to continue our work.
