My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am pawsitive that you and I can be besties! My name is Loki and I'm an approx 6 month old, male lab mix puppy. I am up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. I am approx 40lbs and I am super lean. My foster mom doesn't think I was exposed to many people in my short few months, so I can be a little skittish when you first meet me. They call this "learning how to dog. Get down on my level and I feel more confident to come up to you. Peak Lab saved my sister and I from the shelter and now I'm ready to find my forever family!

I live in a foster home with a 6 year old lab mix, 2 cats, a human toddler and a newborn baby! Talk about exposure to anything and everything. I am learning to get along with everyone in the home and be part of a family. I love to play with other dogs, but I could be a little too much for dogs who don't like to play. My foster mom thinks I would greatly benefit from a confident dog to show me the ropes, but I probably wouldn't be good with a senior dog that likes to mind their own business. I have a rough and tumble play style so I would be best with a dog that matches my energy level. I don't want anything to do with those cats! I know who rules the house and I respect it. I haven't minded the kids. I still keep a comfortable distance from humans in the house unless they call me, so I haven't been crazy with the little ones. Of course, you should supervise us at all times when we're together.

Although I come off as scared in the beginning, time is all I need! My foster doesn't think I'll be skittish forever because it's more uncertainty than anxiety. After just a few days of decompressing in my foster home, I have been more comfortable and outgoing. I'll need a furever home that understands that Rome wasn't built in a day. You won't regret it though because I'll make an incredible family pet if you'll be patient with me.

I am working on crate training and sleeping through the night in my crate. I sleep without a peep if my crate is in your room, but I do whine if my crate is far away. Either will do because I can learn and adapt! I am working on potty training and have limited accidents. I won't have any accidents if you are consistent with letting me out. Like a typical puppy, I'm still learning on what is appropriate to chew on and would appreciate if you could help me figure that out. I walk great on a leash in our neighborhood and the more you walk me, the more exposed to the world I'll be! I am chill in the house, but will party and do zoomies if you let me. I am learning to love toys and would love to have a home with lots of them!! Training me will be easy because I'm super food motivated. I would do best with a fenced in yard (but not required) because sometimes I'll play "catch me if you can with humans as I'm adjusting. Do you want to watch me blossom into the best dog ever?! Apply for me now and let's do this thing together!
