We adopted Nellie from the Detroit Animal Rescue at age 1.75 years. She was in foster care when we met her. There, she bonded with one of her foster dog siblings. She misses that dog very much. Today, Nellie is about 2.5 years old and weighs 45 pounds. She loves to spend time with her human family and thrives on petting and physical contact. Nellie often puts her paws on our shoulders to get hugs. She loves to wrestle her toys and chew bones. Nellie needs A LOT of daily exercise and would do well in a family that will run or walk with her every single day. Nellie stays in her crate at night but would prefer to lay on a sofa or bed with her humans. Nellie is a healthy girl and is house trained. Nellie barks when she looks out a window and spies a neighbor cat or little kids. Nellie enjoys car rides. We, a couple in our sixties, are very sorry to part with dear Nellie. We are not able to give her the attention she wants and meet her exercise needs.
