Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Honeycrisp is sweet, easy-going, playful, with a purr big at the drop of a hat. She is content doing her own ‘cat’ thing but loves to play and enjoys attention too… giving you a big, quick purr. She’s low to medium energy so far when she winds up to play, maybe a little more as she grows.
She was my slightly shy girl from early on and likes attention more every day. She’s doing well being picked up, staying in your arms a little longer each time. She enjoys pets and lately laps after she’s worn out a little, starting to relax on her back with belly rubs. Recently she’s starting to ask to be picked up into my desk chair or stands and pats my leg… or sit with you on the couch… enjoying belly rubs. When she’s worn out, she crashes on the couch with her sisters or under my desk by my feet.
She’s a big explorer. She can jump high onto shelves and into closets and is constantly in the bath tub w/ her sisters. During the day she plays with toys- balls, mice, etc., but mostly chases/wrestles with her two sibs. She’s very gentle at hand-wrestling when you play with her on the couch.
She has a tiny peep when she opens her mouth, sometimes nothing comes out. She might peep at meal times. She`s perfect with the litter box and good trimming her front nails most anytime... and her backs when sleepy. At night, she spins up, chasing her sisters and then settles on the bed next to my pillow/shoulder and sleeps on the bed close by.
She might be a bit shy with new people, but warms up with toys and pets. I think she would be good with children once used to their energy. She met a small, energetic dog, but she wasn’t a fan and mostly just watched him from across the room. She would probably be okay with a cat friendly dog once she gets used to them after slow introductions. She would be good in a home with other cats, she is great with her sisters and with my cat too. If you are looking for 2 kittens, she would pair very well with one of her sisters (Fuji- A915111 or Gala- A915113) they get along very well. But She would also do fine as a solo kitten with toys and plenty of attention.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
