Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hiya people! My name is Zella, the energetic, cuddly puppy! I am about 5 months old. I weigh 22 lbs but that is just at the moment. It is very likely that I’m gonna be a bigger girl when I grow up! I am a Labrador mix and I have been told that it may be good to emphasize the mix part. Whatever the mix is, I have all their good qualities!
I am a sociable and cheery pup. I like everyone I meet! I think people of all sizes are are great. I also like to play with other dogs. Oh, you ask about “cats.”? Well, actually I do not know what “cats” are but we may get along OK. I expect I will want to play with them!
I have had no formal training but I do walk politely in a harness on my leash. I am an amenable pup and am fine with being picked up, carried, and travelling in the car. In fact, I am very happy to do whatever you’d like to do. Cuddling on the couch or going for a hike both sound great!
When you consider adopting me please remember that I am a puppy and it is likely that I will need more attention than a mature, well behaved dog. What I experience in puppyhood stays with me for the rest of my life. Right now I am friendly, sweet, easygoing and mostly (!) well-behaved. However, to grow into a well behaved and balanced grown-up dog I need daily supervised playtime, daily walks and some positive-reinforcement training lessons. Supervised puppy kindergarten would be perfect for me!
I also need you to be patient with me when I make “mistakes” in the house while being housetrained and (apologies in advance!) I may chew the odd shoe or cushion since I might not understand immediately what are my toys and what are actually non-chewable items! Speaking of toys – I love toys, especially Kongs filled with something yummy!
If you believe that there is a place for a loving and well-meaning pup in your family, please come and introduce yourself. I assure you that I will give you a warm welcome!
