My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Male, Cairn Terrier/Border Terrier mix, 10 years old

Meet Rooster - a dog that is overflowing with love and affection for people. Although he is listed as a senior dog, he truly does not act his age. He has a wonderful playful nature and is filled with positive, happy energy.

Rooster loves to go on walks and to have time to romp around outside and play with toys (and loves someone that will play fetch and tug of war with him). Rooster is also completely house trained and has had no accidents in any of his foster homes. His favorite pastime is to sleep next to you in bed while watching TV. He is a snuggle bug!

He is great with all people and other dogs - although he can be protective of his food around other dogs during dinner time, so it is best to make sure that other dogs don't try to come over and steal his food. He gets along well with other dogs, but needs to be kept away from cats.

With all of the playful energy Rooster has, his favorite activity is still to be wherever his human is. He has so much love to give and would be a treasured addition to any home.

Adoption fee is: $250

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
