Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Shortie! This beautiful 5-year-old Staffy mix is ready to discover what life is all about. She dreams of being a beloved family pet, and despite her challenging past, her sweet spirit shines through.
Shortie has faced hardships, including untreated severe skin allergies. To help her, we've switched her to a limited-ingredient diet and started medicated baths, along with antibiotics to address infections. Unfortunately, she shows signs of having been used for breeding and then dumped, evident from her swelling in the chest and rear, as well as some masses that may need future attention.
In addition to this, Shortie is Lyme-positive and will need ongoing antibiotics. Life hasn't been kind to her, but we're committed to giving her the care she deserves.
Shortie has a long road to recovery ahead, but she is such a loving soul, lighting up with affection. She adores being close to people and will happily be your loyal shadow. Currently at the shelter, she longs for the warmth and comfort of a home-whether it's a forever home or a foster one.
If you're looking for a calm, laid-back companion, Shortie could be the perfect match for you

Any dog that is younger than 1 year old is considered a puppy. They come with age-appropriate vaccines, are dewormed, microchipped, on heartworm preventative, and if age allows spay/neutered. If they are not old enough to have the procedure done, we do require a $100 deposit which is refunded once the surgery is done. We require the spay/neuter to be done at 6 months and can schedule it at one of our vets if you wish to not use your own vet. If you do decide to go to your own vet, once proof of procedure is done, a refund can be issued. Puppy adoption fees are $350 + $100 refundable deposit.
ADULTS
Adult dogs are dogs that are ages 1 – 6 years old. They come with vaccinations (Bordetella, Rabies, Distemper), are dewormed, on heartworm prevention, microchipped, heartworm tested, and spay/neutered. Upon intake, they also have an initial wellness exam to screen for any pre-existing conditions. Their adoption fee is $300.
