Brody is a smart, friendly dog with excellent manners. He knows commands like "Sit," "Lay Down," and "Wait" during mealtime, showing his eagerness to please. Living with two kids, ages 5 and 10, Brody enjoys their attention and is always up for playtime. He is often surrounded by children from the neighborhood, happily engaging with them across a wide age range. Although Brody can be cautious with new people, his love for treats makes him easy to win over. Once comfortable, his playful and loving personality shines through.
Brody gets along wonderfully with other small dogs, often having playdates with his owner's friends' pups. Whether playing indoors or running around each other's yards, Brody shares toys without issue and enjoys the company of his furry companions. On walks, he is calm and focused, typically ignoring other dogs unless they approach for a quick sniff. While he has a playful instinct to chase rabbits, a simple "no" is all he needs to stay on track. His experience in shelter playgroups highlights his easygoing nature, making him a great companion for dogs and people alike. Brody's affectionate personality, gentle demeanor, and playful spirit make him a joy to be around for both kids and adults.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
