We've officially sworn in our next presidential candidate, Barrack. Since we're past voting and polls, I would like to remind you of who the staff and habitants of South Suburban Humane Society sought out to carry us through his term! Barrack: a marvelous looking shepherd ready to lead and protect his people. He's nothing short of perfect for the job, he's adaptable, determined, and just the right amount of relaxed. He's a little young to run ensure the safety of his fellow fur friends, but he promises to do his absolute best no matter what! That's indicative of his loyalty and his drive to do his best at all times, and his ability to absolutely steal your heart. Once his term is over, his ability to serve and protect will never cease, he'll turn that energy to protecting you and yours. Call and ask about our White House/SSHS royalty, he would be delighted to clear his schedule up for you!

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
