My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Vallecula (Valley short!). I'm a beautiful female black cat with a few faint white hairs on my chest and white bikini markings on my belly. I was born on 9/29/23 under Wild Blue's care after my feral mother was rescued from Simla, CO. I learned the joys of human love and how to be a great indoor kitty thanks to the dedicated foster families at Wild Blue and I was adopted into a home. Recently however, I returned to Wild Blue because my human dad re-enlisted in the military and couldn't take me. I'm settling back in now and getting used to my new surroundings. I'm making friends and finding my groove here. I love being petted and combed, and I've already found a few laps to curl up in. As a kitten, I was all about playtime! Wand toys and felt mice were my go-to favorites, and I'm hoping wand play will help me feel more at ease as I adjust to being around other cats again. Right now, I'm more of an observer when it comes to the other kitties, but I'm sure I'll jump into the fun once I feel more settled. I will keep you posted as my comfort around others grows. I'm still a bit independent when it comes to being picked up--that was never really my thing as a kitten, and I might need a little time before I'm totally comfortable with that again. But with patience, I know I'll get there. What I'm really hoping for now is to find my forever home, a place where I can be loved and cherished as I rediscover my playful side and make new memories.
