My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Isadora. I`m a sweet little tabby with white socks. I`m very active and playful, especially with my brothers and sister. I especially love to play with wand toys. I`m also a good snuggler, with my siblings and also with my foster mom. I`ll tell you a secret. If you rub my back by my tail, I will flop over, asking you for belly rubs, and it`s not a trap! I also sometimes like to hang out on my foster mom`s shoulders. I hope you will adopt me with one of my siblings, Isaiah, Iggy, or Inez. While it is not a requirement for me to be adopted with one of my siblings, a pair is always better than 1. I will want a home with another furry friend to play and snuggle with, so as long as there is someone else at home I`ll be a happy girl.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
