My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jupiter:

This sweet boy came to us from a home of 11 other cats! Jupiter is a gentle soul who enjoys the company of other cats and humans alike. Although he takes some time to adjust to new people and environments once he does he's the sweetest boy, who will happily approach you for pets and love. He likely would make a great lap cat. As Jupiter is easily stressed by new places and experiences we're looking for a quiet home where he can adjust to his new surroundings at his own pace. Starting him off in a smaller room of the house would be beneficial, as it would help prevent him from getting overwhelmed. He would likely enjoy the company of another cat savvy feline given proper introductions.

If Jupiter might be the one for you please fill out a cat adoption questionnaire and staff will contact applications on a first submitted first contacted basis.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
