Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Greggy was born around January 15th, 2024 and is approximately 9 months old and weighs about 45 lbs. He is considered mostly full grown and will not be getting much bigger, if at all.
While he looks like a lab mix, based on his ears, body type, slick coat and stance, we strongly believe he is mixed with a viszle.
Greggy is the HAPPIEST boy. No matter what life throws at him, he always greets you with lots of tail wags, lots of kisses and a smile on his face. He has the BEST smile.
He is very carefree and all around happy. He doesn’t know that many people are overlooking him because of his color/size, but he is one of the best dogs you will ever meet. He loves everyone he meets, children and adults, men and women.
Greggy is the definition of perfection. He’s smart, eager to learn, super playful, beyond loving, gentle, snuggly, entertaining, loyal and the ideal family dog.
Greggy and his sister Gracie (who is adopted), came to us when a good Samaritan contacted us about them, wandering around the streets, hungry, thirsty and just wanting to be safe. Every shelter and rescue denied them, but thanks to a foster of ours, we were able to get them safe.
Black dogs are not easy to adopt out, but we hope you will see past his color and see his amazing smile and beautiful personality.
Within a short time, Greggy has learned a few commands, and with time, will definitely be able to master and learn more. He loves to please his humans, and he aims to please you.
Greggy LOVES children, LOVES other dogs and has met kitties and doesn’t mind them. He is your typical lab demeanor. He would do perfect in a home with other animals or without, either works for him! He is not dominant, but he not submissive.
Greggy is still working on house training, with consistency, will master it in no time. He loves to play ball in the yard and when he’s super energetic, he gets his zoomies.
An ideal home for Greggy would be one that is medium active as he is not a high energy dog, but he loves his walks. He prefers to be around humans more than anything so as long as he with you, he will adapt to any scenario. Greggy will be your best friend and most loyal companion.
Adoption fee includes: Neuter, current negative heart worm test, current parvo/distemper vaccines, bordatella (kennel cough), rabies vaccination, flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormer, microchip, and health certificate from a veterinarian giving him a clean bill of health.

Most of our animals are located in Texas in foster care. 90% of our animals are adopted prior to transport, and adopter must pick up animal from the transport company who brings them up north (all USDA companies). We do have private companies that bring them directly to your home/office also. Sometimes we do have animals located in foster care up north - if this is the case we do put at the very top of the animal's profile where the animal is located in the north.
Once approved, we can put you in contact with the foster family to learn more specifics about the animal you are applying for.
We do try and process applications within 1-2 business days. Please make sure to list all appropriate information such as references contact information, vet contact information, current animal information, landlord information, etc.

More about this rescue
We are an animal rescue dedicated to helping neglected, abandoned, stray and homeless animals find their forever homes.
We found a need in our area due to the little to no options for the animals in rural areas in Texas - where most animals that ended up in our shelters were euthanized for space.
